I learned many different things through many different experiences. Ever since I was little I enjoyed drawing and making art and I am so happy I took this class this year. I started this year excited to draw but I realized this class is much more than that. We painted and sewed and learned different techniques. I am particularly proud of my fortune cookie collage. I love the mixture between my drawings and the magazine papers. When you began to tell us a new project i felt as though I wouldn't be able to create and complete it. I feel able to take on any art task you ask of us, and like the outcome. My role in this class is to simply create art and remember it. Throughout this year not only have I grown and changed but so has my art skill. I am looking forward to taking on art class in 2015.<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNqs1cTx0Jqaw1lvs87KXM2r2AcPdQY_L7fqsyWhQNhKsGKrC_Lo6V7-4MX5tjDrVdeXzuYfHJsVn7Qpafy1qe_7ceX1hxELfdyF-Rw6xYvUtlowXH8YccII9GQDCuDxYbGzKUfNNuskk/s640/blogger-image-17192243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNqs1cTx0Jqaw1lvs87KXM2r2AcPdQY_L7fqsyWhQNhKsGKrC_Lo6V7-4MX5tjDrVdeXzuYfHJsVn7Qpafy1qe_7ceX1hxELfdyF-Rw6xYvUtlowXH8YccII9GQDCuDxYbGzKUfNNuskk/s640/blogger-image-17192243.jpg"></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-4971072167334946732014-06-09T10:03:00.001-07:002014-06-10T16:54:44.755-07:00Journey in TimeOn the table was carboard that seemed to need to be folded. When we bent and folded, it created a box. This box would be called our very own time capsule. In the beginning I didn't know whether I would put meaningful things inside or little nicknacks. In my box are photos of good memories, letters from good friends, and numbers. Numbers from my cell phone, locker, points in basketball and many others. On the outside of the box I tried to express myself but not reveal too much. The piano keyboard is my favorite side of the box. I've decided to put this box in my garage and keep it sealed for years. I am excited to find this box in many years and remember the important things inside it. <br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXxuvjYBIb5hw7BQ_z466kyDhrofS2L6b9sjZm0HT215beXOhveiLFt5vlTRIRJjO1gEjvJmJhZhaCVhOc_6BEmZ6F6SMXa4lxaOEO0TkZYHQ7AcVC36wbh71OB3vPy7XV4C202B-Cdyk/s640/blogger-image-364171559.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXxuvjYBIb5hw7BQ_z466kyDhrofS2L6b9sjZm0HT215beXOhveiLFt5vlTRIRJjO1gEjvJmJhZhaCVhOc_6BEmZ6F6SMXa4lxaOEO0TkZYHQ7AcVC36wbh71OB3vPy7XV4C202B-Cdyk/s640/blogger-image-364171559.jpg"></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-11545492823447104062014-03-19T10:17:00.001-07:002014-03-20T10:21:16.210-07:00Smile You're In Sea IsleThe hour and a half car ride seemed like a trip across the street. The windows were always rolled down when we crosses the bridge and smelled the bay. I couldn't help but smile to the sound of the seaguls and waves. My family and I were about to spend our week vacation in Sea Isle City. My sisters and I looked forward to this trip all summer. You could see our house a mile away, the deck atop the house made it visible. Every morning we'd wake to the smell of pancakes and bacon. My grandpa would shape them into whatever we wished. Princess's, super heros, turtles and palm trees. We would as quickly as possible spray the sunscreen and grap our toys. We'd always forget our flip flops as our feet burn running across the burning black road. The beach being across the street gave us advantages to bring too many toys and a disadvantage for our parents. We'd set up our chairs and umbrella and begin to play. The ocean was always my favorite part. Boogie boards and tubes would assist me through the monsterous waves. My mother would scream, "not too far!" After splashing around my grandma and I would walk along the beach collecting the prettiest sea shells. This was important to me because the shells contained memories. Memories of the good times and the beach. We'd eat our sandwiches and play some more. It would be 5'oclock when we returned home. After all the showers, us kids would wait for the dinner to be ready. If we were lucky we'd get sea food. Fish and clams were always my favorite. We'd sit around the glass table and discuss how excited we were for the night to come. My brothers were excited for the arcade, my sisters were excited to shop, and I was most excited to golf. Getting a whole in one gave me such a rush. Once we reached the boards we all separated and went to whatever appealed to us. The beach at night is my favorite thing of all. You can't see the waves crash but you know exactly where they are. Our house in Sea Isle is full of happy memories and loving moments. Then we had to base our image off of the cookies. I kept avoiding to finish this project and pushed it on to the end. But when I started to get ideas for the picture like the stair case as in going to the future I didn't want to stop working on it. I even took this home! More ideas kept popping up in my head and I didn't stop working on this. My favorite part of this is the tattooed arm. I love the way it looks on the shadowed person. This picture represents the beauty in nature, the future and rebirth. This is one of my favorite pieces of art I have created so far and I can't wait to finish my cat, Lily.<div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW4fXIlASFYNjR9RdbPSZqoC-D8rYXKQIAJkoekTSgLAICBAiIg5zEc7yx4gBWG-T5MyAB-gQS0CSImSKW7tf_uWLbbJm2Bk7sQhTHuK7S48pdYJmBaeSfpxPA-0hkkcMCe8VblmTZfRg/s640/blogger-image-1407499888.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW4fXIlASFYNjR9RdbPSZqoC-D8rYXKQIAJkoekTSgLAICBAiIg5zEc7yx4gBWG-T5MyAB-gQS0CSImSKW7tf_uWLbbJm2Bk7sQhTHuK7S48pdYJmBaeSfpxPA-0hkkcMCe8VblmTZfRg/s640/blogger-image-1407499888.jpg"></a></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-79947371995465112912014-01-17T08:27:00.001-08:002014-01-22T09:41:59.803-08:00Art x 3<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglM-kG6-BEOx594TwBGqHVA4m20Hnu-eropCQpzqmR4BfJrKU2SH4wMwEdVVQR4M6QtxldpkpWhyphenhyphentZoA2gvp5em6TebUB1pxgeIv-3DYyK6WOwrCicfPhcV55Mn5M5ZaN9b4tRnFEQBNE/s640/blogger-image-1892966554.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglM-kG6-BEOx594TwBGqHVA4m20Hnu-eropCQpzqmR4BfJrKU2SH4wMwEdVVQR4M6QtxldpkpWhyphenhyphentZoA2gvp5em6TebUB1pxgeIv-3DYyK6WOwrCicfPhcV55Mn5M5ZaN9b4tRnFEQBNE/s640/blogger-image-1892966554.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">There was a exciting process while making this collage. Everyone had one class to work on a piece of art and had to pass it on to a total stranger in a different period. We then received someone else's work and added more to theirs. Then the process was repeated and we received our final piece that we would finish and make our own. Even though I didn't start with this paper I contributed enough to make it mine. I learned from this experience that you can add yourself into anything and make it yours. Everything can use something new and can always be added!</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-26789182527178150422014-01-17T08:19:00.001-08:002014-01-20T14:25:53.612-08:00Pop PrintFor Pop print I created Donald Duck. Donald Duck was recently used in our collage inspired by Portia Munson. I chose to reproduce him because he's a fun and creative figure. He looks cool in all different colors. I enjoyed curving out his shape on the stamp and transferring it on all different papers. I made many different copies of Donald and enjoyed printing him in mass-production. Every time he was stamped he looked different. The picture below of Donald is my favorite transfer and I hope you enjoy it!<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRY6fWDz6oqEOvoJ2QBDe1Um2MUf-6TSd9RX-S3j185aGjl9X_z6H5LZ3IL-kKT_yQrgDTsFnIH6kZWAWcyGjQ_i6fzUQTNXFXy_NZzLo5QhPxHQACYgacrrMyeVXeimZjQcyQRUhEQUg/s640/blogger-image--706583025.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRY6fWDz6oqEOvoJ2QBDe1Um2MUf-6TSd9RX-S3j185aGjl9X_z6H5LZ3IL-kKT_yQrgDTsFnIH6kZWAWcyGjQ_i6fzUQTNXFXy_NZzLo5QhPxHQACYgacrrMyeVXeimZjQcyQRUhEQUg/s640/blogger-image--706583025.jpg"></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-34351322076193910862013-11-14T10:27:00.001-08:002014-01-20T14:25:41.081-08:00Under the Sea<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqT4Lhmh7yjAjqv-9TJ59AHDIf_fvAWa2ZhAj3sdzgE2nMF90iKp7ih88GyjAHEX1QrXTIIasJoEAQJqQZstELu7cXRnFpB3GYP0VEN-ormG10SBopRoAHGMFXX0jcgUXLHoMA8jTxoy0/s640/blogger-image--905806176.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqT4Lhmh7yjAjqv-9TJ59AHDIf_fvAWa2ZhAj3sdzgE2nMF90iKp7ih88GyjAHEX1QrXTIIasJoEAQJqQZstELu7cXRnFpB3GYP0VEN-ormG10SBopRoAHGMFXX0jcgUXLHoMA8jTxoy0/s640/blogger-image--905806176.jpg"></a><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Portia Munson is a unique artist that collects objects of one color. Her art inspired our art class to make our own collection. After taking a group vote, the winning color was blue. Our collection varies from makeup to globes. Each different item shows the differences between each student. Our interests have shifted from how to survive to what makes us happy. Our group collection doesn't bring interest to me although the project itself does. I think that the time we live in changes what objects mean something and which objects don't. A pile of blue objects is the first collection I have been involved in.</span></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-76922979889220705822013-11-12T10:33:00.002-08:002014-01-20T14:25:28.711-08:00Collecting vs. HoardingIs there a difference between collecting and hoarding? Hoarding is a compulsive disease that limits a person's ability to function successfully in life. Hoarding is a failure to get rid of personal possessions. Collecting is being organized and knowing where an object is. Hoarding is just one big mess of things. They have no meaning and will soon be barried by more meaningless objects. Collecting is a hobby that could bring you comfort and happiness. You can collect many things that have meaning to you but there is a point where it becomes too much. Karsten Bott is an artist that wishes to collect "one of everything". He feels as though it is collecting whereas I see it as hoarding. One of everything seems simply impossible. I feel as though anyone could buy a ware house and full it with junk. Below is a picture of a collection and of a hoarders mess. Which one do you believe is which?<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4hUL_ZicLGG8IXG1bu2pGlArWWyZ8TJMhtKFURauRYq-WV86fv-qnY3KntmTWk9dgfQUBjkiNX-6eswChloGVXjWD2pMbNQ2qBLUz1aUH9X-ktKpq29A0GlW-peq-hs5U7MyOBukSp5c/s640/blogger-image-551393742.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4hUL_ZicLGG8IXG1bu2pGlArWWyZ8TJMhtKFURauRYq-WV86fv-qnY3KntmTWk9dgfQUBjkiNX-6eswChloGVXjWD2pMbNQ2qBLUz1aUH9X-ktKpq29A0GlW-peq-hs5U7MyOBukSp5c/s640/blogger-image-551393742.jpg"></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-18858968392322186802013-10-30T07:33:00.001-07:002014-01-20T14:25:16.386-08:00Compare and ContrastThis marking period our two tasks were to draw a bicycle and draw a jar full of candy. These drawings were both very different. The bicycle drawing was done on white paper with 3 different kinds of pencils. The jar full of candy was done on colored paper and we used colored pencils. The bicycle drawing was more about shading and using the value scale and bringing out the brighter parts of the bike. We focused more on the brightness of the candy and using the white pencil to make the jar look more like glass in the candy drawing. I enjoyed drawing the bicycle more because the difference between the pencils and the pressure amazed me. The process to finish the bike took more time and effort to me while illustrating the bicycle. I enjoyed both of these projects and I hope you enjoy my art!<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh46EoZ1X38iZGesh4sSDXEe-9UojRfwUgJ3q2v39Rj9AOrBWonhyphenhyphenzeZdB009xVUoXo_M7L5OIYCboImU1Rj1yo-1huRo2lwZByGG_E_QVZJXwhV6PL_nG374pZSxEtaSQ7OSvD3RuTjII/s640/blogger-image--970046713.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh46EoZ1X38iZGesh4sSDXEe-9UojRfwUgJ3q2v39Rj9AOrBWonhyphenhyphenzeZdB009xVUoXo_M7L5OIYCboImU1Rj1yo-1huRo2lwZByGG_E_QVZJXwhV6PL_nG374pZSxEtaSQ7OSvD3RuTjII/s640/blogger-image--970046713.jpg"></a></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-52590924490631796882013-10-29T10:32:00.001-07:002014-01-20T14:24:30.870-08:00Candy JarThe jar full of candy sitting in front of me! Ah so frightening. To draw glass came off as impossible to me. And on colored paper!!!! I enjoyed my paper but I had a strong feeling I would not be enjoying this project. I've realized I've been beginning these drawings less confident then how I finish them. Using the colored pencils made me feel better about my drawing. The color changed the whole black and white aspect I had from drawing the bicycle. Drawing this jar was more fun knowing I could eat the candy after. The white colored pencil made it look more like glass, which gave me more hope for my outcome. I am happy with the finished product of my jar and hope you are to!<br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj2J07YiXzZ7jr6UMY1hZvZ79x5g2AI9No3ZlbIfe86qNszi-b6GvsUneGFo7T_rihGE2_0MJjITPZKAzPaCNHasEkQVaKH6aRUCdWez8Up7Mq95dMZjZ-Ec1ZYyde2L95kBnO_jJCzj4/s640/blogger-image-2032137786.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj2J07YiXzZ7jr6UMY1hZvZ79x5g2AI9No3ZlbIfe86qNszi-b6GvsUneGFo7T_rihGE2_0MJjITPZKAzPaCNHasEkQVaKH6aRUCdWez8Up7Mq95dMZjZ-Ec1ZYyde2L95kBnO_jJCzj4/s640/blogger-image-2032137786.jpg"></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17239639607868554087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061383397476182107.post-42612301727274799292013-10-29T10:24:00.000-07:002014-01-20T14:24:54.591-08:00Bicycle Drawing<div><br></div>Seeing the bike sitting in the center of your classroom frightened but excited me. The bike drawing was my first real experience in shading and composition. I learned the use of the value scale and how it can completely change your art. I was so surprised with the differences between the three pencils you presented to us. To be honest in the beginning I was very doubtful about my art and drawing this bike. But as we kept drawing each day I began to surprise myself. I saw the effect of the value scale and began to enjoy what my bike looked like. I am proud of my first real piece of work in art and excited for the outcome of my candy jar!<br>
